Instonians Club Dinner
Names to Tom Reid by this Saturday (1 October). Tom is hoping for a good turnout from the Hockey Section to support the President Ricky Noble.
Recently Retired? This is an appeal to all of those players who have recently hung up their stick and don't know what to do with themselves on the Saturdays when the golf course is closed. On a few Saturdays we can struggle to get 5 teams out, especially when the school has an away match. If the call comes, could you please consider turning out, as it is vital for the future of the club that we continue to field 5 teams on a regular basis. Also, by turning out in our time of need, we promise that we will not think that a season long commitment has been made. After all the course could be open again the following week!

Instonians Hockey Clinic On Sunday 28th August 2005 over 40 RBAI and Inchmarlo pupils between the ages of 8 and 16 turned out to the DUB playing fields to attend the first annual Instonians ‘Hockey Clinic’. The idea behind the clinic is to provide a ‘doctors surgery’ for hockey players, in other words if a player was having difficulty with a particular skill they could come to the clinic to get it fixed! This particular session was an introductory check up looking at the basic skills of passing, tackling and dribbling. The doctors on this particular occasion were Nigel Skillen, Paul Gleghorne, Adam Stewart, Ricky Lee, 1st XI Vice Captain Tim Taylor and 1st XI Captain Neil Cooke. The day was deemed a success by all that attended and consequently there is another ‘Hockey Clinic’ scheduled for the school Christmas holidays. Attendees will be given the chance to put forward the areas that they need the Hockey Doctors to look at, the most common areas will be considered in the forthcoming ‘Hockey Clinic’.
