Instonians Inter House Hockey Shield at Inchmarlo The annual Inchmarlo Inter House Hockey Competition for the Instonians Shield was held at the new pitch at Shaw's Bridge for the first time. The favourites Knockagh suffered a surprising defeat in the first match against Scrabo Knockagh had some good chances, but could not get the ball into the net. Scrabo only had 2 or 3 chances and they scored thanks to two goals from Patrick Nicolas In the second match Knockagh versus Divis, it was Knockagh who had the early possession with an early shot on goal by Patrick Frazer and some good shots from James Palmer and Toby Boyd.. This was a must win game for Knockagh however the match ended in a draw and the favourites were out. The last game of the day was Divis versus Scrabo. This was really the final as whoever won would lift the shield. All Scrabo needed was a draw to win but Divis had to win to take the shield. It was an exciting first half when Iain Jones conceded a penalty after tackling Jamie McIlveen. Divis house captain Toby Boyd took the penalty and scored. That was 1-0 to Divis. Scrabo pushed hard for the equalizer and it came from Patrick Nicolas. Divis upped the tempo and Konrad Stinson ran down the wing and won a free hit. From it Toby Boyd received the ball to score the winning goal. When the final whistle blew it was Divis who celebrated their 2-1 victory. The Instonians hockey shield was presented to the Divis team by the vice captain of the Irish hockey team Mark Irwin.
