Under 11 Seahorses in great win.

After a convincing victory on Monday, the Under 11 Seahorses continued in their rich vein of form this evening against a previously unbeaten Saintfield Side. (18th July)

It was Ben Crothers' turn to take the Captain's armband and we managed to win the toss for the first time in 4 attempts.

Having chased well at Cregagh, Ben opted to insert the opposition.

The talented Paddy Jack took the new ball with (a surprised) James Lambert and the pair bowled tightly until James clean-bowled one of Saintfield's star players, Fletcher.

The left handed number 3 Reid strode to the wicket with intent, despatched James for two 4's and looked a class act.

Ben replaced the excellent Paddy Jack and proceeded to clean bowl Euan Scott and the potentially destructive Reid in his first over. At 15 for 3 after 7, we pushed hard for a 5 over spell, after which Saintfield had been reduced to 27 for 7.

Another P5 starlet Michael Glasgow bowled beautifully, claiming a wicket in the first over of his debut. Hugo and Joseph also bowled some tidy off-spin.

Saintfield managed 36 all out.

James 1-10, Ben 2-7, Hugo 1-6, Michael 1-3.

(We only bowled 1 wide)

The Saintfield opening attack of Scott and Fletcher impressed from ball one.

Ian Frazer was first to go, bringing Adam Wylie to the wicket.

Adam was sound in defence, although he and James Hunter struggled to rotate the strike and after 10 overs, we were 10 for 1 and Saintfield were back in the game. James came to life in the 11th over with two well struck boundaries. Adam retired, having done a great job seeing off the dangerous opening attack.

James retired an over later for a well paced 20.

TJ ,Paddy and Ben followed in quick succession however Hugo and Joseph steadied the ship to lead us to a comprehensive six-wicket victory.

Man of the Match—James Hunter.

Best performance of the season boys (so far!)

Well done!

Thanks to the school for the use of Bladon and to Saintfield for the game.
