The team registered an emphatic 167 run victory against Bangor at Shawís Bridge Lower on Wednesday 28th June.

Thankfully the weather played ball to ensure the match was completed before the cut-off date. Amy won the toss and had no hesitation in opting to bat.

A destructive 55 from Lorcan Donnelly paved the way as Angus Carson was happy to play the support role. Lorcanís innings contained 3 x 6ís and 6 x 4ís. However his retirement caused more problems as Amy put on a master class in controlled hitting, with 2 particularly eye-catching straight 6ís. Of Amyís 53, only 3 runs didnít come in boundaries. George Palmer decided to keep the ball on the deck and an excellent 31 will improve his confidence. Ben McCausland had the difficult task of coming in after the free-flowing run scoring and couldnít quite get into his groove but contributed a useful 18. Michael Hollway and Luke Beattie also finished well.

In reply, Bangor lost wickets steadily and struggled to score against tight bowling. The Bangor innings closed on 41-7, with 10 bowlers having bowled 2 overs each.

Thanks to Andrea Beattie and the mums for putting on tea/coffee/sandwiches. We are definitely the best hosts in Under 11 cricket!

Thanks to Bangor for the game and we now look forward to playing CSNI in the semi final.
