Under 11A's beat Muckamore

The boys travelled to Moylena to play Quoile Cup finalists Muckamore, winning by 8 wickets on Monday 7th August.

Muckamore won the toss and elected to bat. Angus picked up a wicket in his first over as he and George bowled tightly. There was no relief for the batters with the introduction of Lorcan Donnelly and Frank Hollway. Frank claimed his first wicket on the A’s. Muckamore were struggling as wickets fell at regular intervals. There was a huge turnaround in the fielding performance from the cup defeat. No misfields and 3 good run outs- one from Angus Carson and two from. Tom Crothers. Further wicket-takers were Ben McCausland and Michael Hollway. The Muckamore innings closed on 37 for 7, with 10 bowlers having bowled 2 overs each.

In reply, Ben McCausland and Michael Hollway started well before Michael mis-timed a drive with the score on 15. Tom McGale fell to a needless run out although Ben McCausland and George Palmer steadied the ship, crossing the line in 8 overs.
We agreed with Muckamore to play the remaining overs for the benefit of all players. This allowed all batsmen to have some time in the middle, which was a productive exercise for both sides.
Great to see the boys bounce back so positively after the disappointment of losing the cup semi final.
Thanks to Muckamore for hosting and good luck in the Quoile Cup final
