3rd XV get season back on track with a win at home to PSNI 2nd XV

On Saturday the 3rd XV took on PSNI 2nds at Shaws Bridge, after 2 frustrating narrow losses by less than 3 points in the previous 2 weeks.

With the line out functioning better than it had all season, Instonians went in at half time 14 -3 up, under no real pressure from the PSNI, with the thoughts of pushing on for a bonus point win.

However a 2nd half penalty count of over 30 against Instonians, and 4 yellow cards given, led to an extremely frustrating half.

With the stop start to the game, it prevented the younger and fitter Inst side from putting any sustained pressure on the PSNI, we did eventually score to make the it 19-3 with 5 minutes to go, but were unable to push on to gain a 4th bonus point try.

Final score was 19 -8

Thanks to PSNI for the game and we wish them luck with the rest of their season.
