Under 11 A’s continue winning run

The boys put in a convincing performance against CIYMS on the lower deck at Shaw’s Bridge on a glorious evening.

Batting first, George Craigan and Michael Hollway started confidently before George was adjudged LBW with the score on 32 in 5th over. Ben McCausland started cautiously however his fluency improved as his innings progressed before striking a huge 6 and going on to retire. Meanwhile, Michael had departed as he looked to push on towards retirement. Max Willmott and Darcy Donnelly batted assuredly until both were out to decent balls. CIYMS stuck well to their task and claimed 3 more victims in the closing overs.

Our top 5 are looking strong and all have impressed to date.

In reply, CI struggled, losing their key batsmen cheaply as Ben, Max,Michael, George and Luke all claimed wickets. At 34 for 6 from 12 overs, the game was over as a contest. Unfortunately our boys switched off and allowed CI to rally, eventually finishing on 87-9. A tidy spell of leg spin bowling from James Nelson accounted for 3 of the CI late order. This showed great character on their part but was well assisted by our 29 extras!

Plenty to work on. Thanks to CI for the game and best of luck for the season
