U11A’s beat Lisburn

The boys beat Lisburn by 85 runs at Shaw’s Bridge on Friday 15th June.

Batting first, Michael Hollway and Darcy Donnelly put on 51 in good time before an excellent direct hit accounted for Darcy. Michael looked assured as Ben McCausland joined him. As always, this pair batted well in tandem with some excellent running between the wickets and shot selection. Following Michael’s retirement, middle Hollway, Frank, showed his talent before retiring to give others a bat. Ben upped the pace to finish with a flurry. Will, Evan and George didn’t trouble the scorers much, leaving Max Willmott and Luke Crothers to bat sensibly to finish the innings off with some sensible batting and running.

In reply, Lisburn lost an early wicket to a straightforward catch. The bowling attack performed fairly well, preventing any meaningful partnerships. The wickets were spread with Max unfortunate not to claim a wicket after an excellent 2 over spell. 8 of the wickets to fall were clean bowled,

Thanks to Lisburn for taking the game at short notice. It was great to be playing them again at this level and we wish them good luck for the rest of the season.
