U11As Continue Winning Ways

On Thursday 6th June, after the monsoons of earlier in the week abated, the boys fitted in a game against Premiership newcomers North Down, emerging as comfortable winners by 9 wickets.

North Down won the toss and elected to bat. Tight bowling from Lewis and Charlie was followed by even tighter spells from Luke, Ben and Frank. With only 14 runs scored from the first ten overs, our bowlers turned the screw with the return of Lewis to secure a fantastic hat-trick (all clean bowled) The innings closed on 25 all out and we managed to spread the workload between ten bowlers.

In reply, Adam Boyd struck two fantastic straight 6s and a 4 to finish proceedings quickly. The only blot on the landscape was Hugo Robinson demolishing his own stumps in style! Plenty of learning and still areas to work on for everyone.

Many thanks to North Down who were happy to bowl twelve overs to allow some more batsmen to bat and some of their bowlers to get some more practice.

That’s 3 from 3 in the league so far.
