This talented side put in a top performance to account for a useful Muckamore side by 9 wickets at Moylena on Monday 24th June.

Muckamore captain Jude Keates won the toss and decided to have a bat. Max Willmott and Daniel Henry bowled superbly with great control. A run out and two wickets from Daniel, including the key wicket of Jude Keates, left the score on 20 for 3 after eight overs, with Max only conceding seven runs in his four overs. Tom Crothers proved almost impossible to score off, conceding only four runs in his four overs, while Michael Hollway’s tidy off-spin proved to be a challenge at the other end. This pair only conceded 20 runs from their combined 8 overs at a key stage of the game. This allowed Amy, Luke and George to complete the overs, restricting the opposition to 64 for 9. Although a couple of catches went down, the bowling unit performed superbly.

Despite the modest total, Muckamore started in determined fashion with Jude Keates taking a simple catch to account for Ben Oberholzer. Thankfully that was to be their only wicket of the evening. Tom Crothers pulled and drove nicely at one end while Michael Hollway remained resolute at the other. The pair countered each other well and the winning runs were struck in the ninth over to record an easier than expected win and passage to the final.

Thanks to Muckamore for the game and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Unfortunately we have been informed that the final will be on a date when many of our players are unavailable, however this also provides an opportunity for others to step up and put in big performances.

Muckamore 64-9 (D Henry 2-12, M Hollway 2-16)
