4s beat Lisburn 3s

On Sunday 11th August the 4th XI (containing 5 under 13s) entertained Lisburn 3rd XI, emerging worthy winners by 7 wickets.

The bowling unit worked nicely as Lisburn struggled to build partnerships throughout. Another quality display of swing bowling from Lorcan Donnelly backed up by Xander McIlwaine’s slingers and a tidy showing from Michael Hollway on debut. Lisburn were dismissed for 74.

In reply, following the early loss of Amy Hunter, Richard Black dug in while James Welshman smashed three sixes quickly before being bowled. Ben Crothers wasted no time in the chase, dealing mostly in boundaries. The game was finished with a cracking switch hit for 4 from Ben.

An excellent performance from some of our emerging talent and great to see their enthusiasm and confidence in adult cricket. All three disciplines were strong.

Thanks to Lisburn for the game which was played in excellent spirit.

Lisburn 74 (R Wiseman 22, L Donnelly 4-20, X McIlwaine 2-9, M Hollway 3-23)

Instonians 78-3 (Ja Welshman 21, B Crothers 32*)
