Comprehensive Victory

28th July 2012

The 4th XI completed a comprehensive victory over a very youthful Bangor IV at Cranmore on Saturday.

Bangor won the toss and decided to bat.  The young Bangor batsmen found the going tough. The longish grass was damp and ground shots did not travel quickly.  The Bangor innings lasted 24.2 overs but only yielded a total of 30 runs, twelve of which were extras, mostly wides of course.

Cameron Williams took 3-3 off his six overs, and captain Gareth Walker took 3-6 in his spell, narrowly missing a hat-trick. Charlie Johnston took 2-10 and Peter Currie finished matters off with 1-0 off two balls.

Ross Bowie scored 6no and Gus Portig played aggressively for his 24no to wrap up the victory in 6.3 overs.
