P6 Best Sportsman and Tackler 23/09/2017

For the next few weeks, the super skills trophy will be renamed Best Tackler. This is the one main area that lets this team down as a group. Anyone who has seen us play will not doubt the attacking ability but it is what we do without the ball that needs addressing. With this in mind the focus for the games against Cooke were on tackling. James Nelson must have been doing some super work with his Dad over the Summer as he showed great skill and determination as he "chopped" down all Cooke players, sometimes they even had the ball!! Keep up the good work James and we are all delighted with your progress.

Matthew won best sportsman for his great attitude and all round efforts shown. Matthew has a fantastic approach to his rugby and always listens and contributes thoughtfully to discussion. He continues to show great skill and is always to the forefront both in attack and defence. Keep up the good work! The rest of the boys did well too but must concentrate on their approach when defending, pushing up together as a defensive line and executing the tackle effectively. We look forward to seeing them play this weekend against Cooke and Civil Service.

P4 Player and Tackler of the Week 23/09/2017

Great team and individual performances in the P4’s first full contact matches against Cooke.
The tackling, passing and running skills on show were fantastic.
This week’s Player of the Week is Luke Crothers-nice running into space and passing.
Tackler of the Week is Adam Price who showed great technique in many crunching tackles.
Great progress everyone-keep it up!

P4 Player and Tackler of the Week 16/09/2017

Well done to P4 Tackler of the Week Paddy Gillies (right) and Player of the Week, newcomer Elliott Douthett.
Great tackling technique and commitment from Paddy.
Super attitude and quick learning from Elliott in only his 2nd week of rugby!
Well done boys-keep it up!

P6 Super Skills and Sportsman of the Week 16/09/2017

Well done to Luis who returned to rugby after his time at home in Spain where he kept his hand in by joining the local rugby team in his hometown. Luis is a fierce determined player who will be looking forward to playing against Cooke this weekend. Hopefully Sam gave you the trophy in school!! Really pleased for Aaron also who is growing in confidence each week. Aaron has plenty of pace and just needs to believe and "put the foot down." A good learner who is developing well. See you all on Saturday for our first game against Cooke. 9:30 start!!

P6 Super Skills and Sportsman of the Week 09/09/2017

Picture 1: A big welcome back to Aaron who on his first day back produced a great morning's rugby in the wet!! It was as if he wasn't away. Displaying super enthusiasm, team play and effort. Great to have you and the family back and a deserving winner of the best sportsman award. Aaron is pictured with cricket legend Regan West!!

Picture 2: Well done to "super" Sam who is really getting into his rugby and relished the wetter conditions. Still too early to say but with his frame and mindset he looks to be a future tough forward. Sam is seen here with local legend John our super ref.  Pictured in the background is one of our faithful happy supporters!! Great stuff Sam and we look forward to you ripping it up this year.
