COVID-19 - Return to Cricket

In response to Cricket Ireland's release of its COVID-19 Safe Return to Training Protocols for club cricket in Ireland, the club created a COVID-19 sub-committee.  This committee has been hard at work in establishing protocols, receiving training and completing the risk assessments required in order that we can safely start to training again leading to competitive play in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

The process is outlined in Cricket Ireland's Guide for Clubs.

Once everything has been signed off by the NCU's COVID-19 Safety Support Officer; 1 to 1 training can commence in line with Step 2 of the NI Executive Government Guidelines.

Coaches have a number of responsibilities and protocols to follow as well which are outlined in Cricket Ireland's Guide for Coaches.  Any coach wishing to use our facilities will be required to follow all of the processes and procedures outlined in this document.  It is therefore advisable that you familiarise yourself with this document.

Players too, will also be required to be familiar and know the correct protocols to follow as outlined in Cricket Ireland's Guide for Players.  All players who are invited to attend any training sessions, from senior 1st XI players down to our youngest youth team members, will be required to follow all of the protocols outlined.  This will include completing a questionnaire and declaration BEFORE you start your first training session.  No form, no training, no exceptions.  If you have been invited to a training session please download and complete.

If you answer Yes to any of the questions on the questionnaire, then please do not return to cricket until you are eligible to do so.  It is also very important that if, at any time in the future, you answer Yes to any of these questions that you exclude yourself from cricket and do not return until you can answer No to all of the questions again.

If you are under the age of 18 the questionnaire and declaration form will need to be signed by a parent or guardian.  Your parent or guardian will also have to have completed a youth registration form.  Please download and complete this also before you come along to your first session.

We have produced a handy guide as to what is expected of all our players.  If you are invited to attend any training sessions please download and read.

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ ALL OF THE MATERIAL ABOVE THAT IS APPLICABLE TO YOU.  IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON BEFORE YOU RETURN TO CRICKET.

Instonians AGM update

Dear Member

Some of you may be wondering about the Instonians AGM that takes place at the end of May. Unfortunately for obvious reasons due to the corona virus it will not be possible to hold the meeting this year.

Next years Presidential team will be installed in due course when circumstances permit.

In the interim the Executive Committee continues to meet [remotely] to look after member interests and support the activities of all three sports. The current post holders of the Executive remain, David Rainey[Chairman], Chris Fleming[Treasurer] and Erica Luke[Secretary].

If you have any queries please contact any of the above and any membership queries should be directed to the Membership Secretary [Sharon Crossan]. Please keep safe and best wishes to you and your families.

David Rainey
