Sunday 27th March

U18s Lost 19-31 to touring side Biggar RFC

Instonians hosted a strong Biggar RFC from South Lanarkshire on Sunday.

Despite a slow start, the friendly played in 3 x 20 minute periods the home side were 19-5 down at the end of the first period, clawing it back to 19-19 at the end of the 2nd.

In the 3rd quarter the home side were dealt a double yellow and ended up losing 31-19.

Man of the Match performance once again this week was James Pepper.

The team then hosted the Biggar team in a post-match meal put on by Chris Pallin and a few refreshments before we said our farewells as they headed back to Scotland early evening.

A great occasion for both teams with great home support and weather befitting a fast flowing game of rugby

PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR CLUB - EVERYONE IS VERY WELCOME

Dear Instonian

As you may have heard, our biggest fundraising event for many years is now rescheduled for Friday 13th May. With greatest living All Black, Sean Fitzpatrick as guest speaker, we are looking forward to a really exciting event.

For the avoidance of any doubt, there is no requirement to arrange a full table. Individual tickets for the event are available at https://www.seahorsesminirugby.co.uk/product/fundraising-sports-dinner/

We have set aside a number of ‘club tables’ to ensure any Instonians buying individual tickets will spend the evening with some friendly faces. Please remember that partners are very welcome too.

We are very lucky that the format remains the same and the full original line up is still intact as detailed below -

  • Reception with bubbles and music
  • 3 course meal with a selection of wines
  • Guest speaker Sean Fitzpatrick - greatest living All Black
  • Comedian Tim McGarry
  • Lots of table fun and entertainment
  • DJ and Dancing into the night
  • Evening expertly compared by local Broadcaster Mark Simpson
  • Whilst fundraising for Instonians, we are also using the night to support 'Friends of the Cancer Centre'.
