Mini Rugby

This week in a fixture at home with CIYMS

08:45am meet with 09:15am kick off

 

U12s

Under 12 training tues and thru eve 18:30 to 19:30

Potential game v Foyle College on Sunday 11:30 kick off.

 

U12s – Girls

Girl’s U12 - coaching last Saturday

Coaching this Saturday 9am-10am

 

U14s

U14 beat Letterkenny 2s on Saturday 48-0 in the Cup to progress to the 1/4 Finals

Training is at Shaws Bridge on Monday and Wednesday night starting at 18:15

Next U14 match vs Ballyclare away 11am KO.

 

U16s

U16 played a blitz away to Academy & Ophir.

Lost 26-10 & 19-10.

More good experience.

Training Wednesday 6:30pm

Sat 11th versus Donaghadee at Civil Service 11:30am

 

U18s

18’s training with Academy squad on Tuesdays @ 7pm

 

U21s

Continue to train with 3rd & 4th XV on a Tuesday evening

All new players welcome

 

3rd XV & 4th XV – Junior Club

3s beat Lisburn 2s on Saturday 21-0 in the league to make it 3 wins from 3.

4s lost 0-57 to Carrick 2s on Friday night.

Brand new group of players against an experienced Carrick team.

Also lots of U21s involved.
Lessons learnt but great to see so many new faces – a start has been made.

Training is at Shaws Bridge on Tuesday night 7pm to 8.15pm

Next matches:

3s vs Cooke 2s at Shaws Bridge 12.15pm KO.

4s/U21s vs Ballymena 5s at Shaws Bridge 12.15pm KO.

 

2nd XV

No match last week or this week.

Next league match is away to Queens 3rd XV on Tues 13th or Wed 14th Feb

 

1st XV

Second defeat of the season against our old rivals Belfast Harlequins in a double header for the last Ulster Premier League 2 Match and first round of the Senior Cup.
Losing 22-25, with us coming back strongly at the end but ran out of time.
We wish Belfast Harlequins well in the next round.

“Instonians live” – an experiment in communication

The “Instonians live” is an experiment by harry Mussen to try and streamline the live scores on Saturday afternoons.

At the moment, Harry posts to four Instonian chats, the Ulster Rugby Scores chat and the Energia AIL Div 2 chat.

Often, he resembles a whirling dervish!

WhatsApp have just introduced the Communities function and he is trying to use it to make one post go to all our Instonian chats.

It’s a work in progress and might well be superseded by the Instonians One App.

Instonians Cricket Club Ladies Night – Fri 3rd March

Louis Ludik is coming to this event with Crafty Vintners for a wine tasting! Louis is a former Ulster rugby player who coaches Instonians Firsts rugby squad! A fantastic addition to the night!!

 

Cricket - Lisburn will open their defence of the Premier League title at Shaw’s Bridge with a game against Instonians on April 22.
