Continue to train with 3rd & 4th XV on a Tuesday evening

All new players welcome

3rd XV & 4th XV – Junior Club

3rd XV no game

Next match for 3rds is against Malone 3rds at Gibson Park on 18th March.

4th XV were away to Randalstown 3s.

With no one on the bench after 30 mins, all players played with spirit to the final whistle resulting in a 29-26 win.

We had a few firsts, Ethan McKnight Captaining and Matt Sloan, first match since University in London 6 years ago. Welcome to Instonians and back to the sport.

Big thanks to Randalstown RFC who supplied the players with a case of beer, chicken curry and even a cheese board to finish!

League match Saturday away to BHS FP 2nd XV.

KO time is 2.30pm but we have asked if it can be earlier.

3rd XV & 4th XV this week Training on Tuesday 7pm

2nd XV

Unfortunately Omagh 3rd XV could not field a team last Saturday.
That walkover win means the 2nd XV win their league on the same day the 1st XV won theirs.

This week we host City of Derry 2nd XV in one of the two remaining fixtures.

The team are dying to finish off in style, City of Derry 2nd XV will be a tough challenge.

1st XV

1st XV had a bonus point win 56-7 at home to Ballina 1st XV.

That win ensures the Division 2C title with 3 matches still to play.

It is also automatic promotion to Division 2B

Back to back promotions is a credit to all involved.

Match report is on the club website.

Next match is in 3 week.

Away to Bangor 1st XV on 25th March

For the team the same focus continues:

“One game at a time!!”

“Next job!!”

“Instonians live” – an experiment in communication

The “Instonians live” is an experiment by harry Mussen to try and streamline the live scores on Saturday afternoons.

At the moment, Harry posts to four Instonian chats, the Ulster Rugby Scores chat and the Energia AIL Div 2 chat.

Often, he resembles a whirling dervish!

WhatsApp have just introduced the Communities function and he is trying to use it to make one post go to all our Instonian chats.

It’s a work in progress and might well be superseded by the Instonians One App.
